INport Deluxe: Included software

Included with your INPort are a recording and track compiling program by CFB Software. These programs let you record and manage your files in a very simple and easy to use way, overcoming the complexities associated with most recording software. With CFB Software you'll be up and recording in no time.

Recording files from your stereo to your computer with LPRecorder

To record from your stereo back into your computer, you need to use a WAV file recorder to store the data as a digital WAV file on your hard disk. You can buy WAV editors that can be used for recording, but they tend to be packed with lots of functions you'll never use and can be quite expensive.

This only makes them complicated and time-consuming to configure. LPRecorder included with the INport has been designed with one purpose in mind - to record from your home stereo with an absolute minimum of fuss and optimum fidelity. It's as easy as hooking your stereo to the INport, entering a filename, and pressing the record button.

Remove unwanted pops and clicks:

INport Deluxe includes powerful Wave Corrector™ software that automatically removes unwanted pops and clicks in one simple step without affecting the fidelity of your music!

Special functions of LPRecorder include:

  • Automatically adjusts optimum recording levels to avoid distortion
  • Auto Stop for unattended operation
  • Visual level meters to check recording levels before AND during recording
  • Large volume slider with numeric values for precise settings
  • Skipping and clipping protection and detection
  • Pause recording - useful for recording a selection of tracks from different LPs
  • Calculation of the remaining recording time, based on the free space on your disk
  • The recorded file is ready for further processing as soon as the recording has finished
  • Integrated soundcard configuration allows monitoring through your soundcard
  • Produces a time-saving Tracks File for use in LPRipper

Turning your file into tracks for CD or MP3 with LPRipper

You've probably discovered how time-consuming it is trying to record each song as a separate WAV or MP3 file. LPRipper included with the INport makes this task a whole lot easier.

Using LPRecorder you can record a whole LP or tape as a single WAV file on your computer - with the auto stop function and gain leveller there's no need to hang around and watch either. LPRipper will then automatically split that big WAV file into a number of separate songs ready to write to CD or turn into MP3s. The auto split feature works by calculating the gap between songs to see if this represents a track mark.

After it's done, you can check the track marks and move them to wherever you want. It's all controlled through a graphical editor that shows how your songs actually look, making it easy to fine tune all your recordings.

Check out these other cool features:

  • Listen to previews of the tracks
  • Optionally adjust the fade-in / fade-out of selected tracks – especially useful for live recordings
  • Replace any hiss between tracks with silence
  • Save editing progress between sessions
  • Use LPRecorder .TRK files for fast operation

'The INport is one small box that will make life a lot easier for all DJs and musicians out there when it comes to backing up vinyl as a digital file, recording those all INportant mic CDs to send out to the promotors at your favourite club or capturing any other form of audio emanating from a stereo at line level.' Clyde Kirkham from 3D World (Australia)

'The INport is overly simple to use - the hardware design is foolproof, and doesn't allow you to plug in any incorrect cables. The software is equally easy to use.' Charles Bermant from PC World.com (USA)
